Has anyone made sweet potato chips successfully?

I thought this sounded great, and followed the recipe. After the dehydration time, they weren't crisp at all, and were like raw chewy pieces. It was bad.

Is there some other setting to make them like chips? Is there a temperature setting you're supposed to use in the dehydration? Would Air frying work better? Any better ideas for these?
