Searching for Recipes By Title and Keyword
With over 500 recipes and counting, searching lets you find the recipe you want, when you want it. When using the Cookbook tab of the June app, you can search for any recipe by name. For words that are also keywords, such as “pasta”, the app will list recipes where pasta appears in the recipe title first followed by other recipes that are categorized as pasta, such as Cold Sesame Noodles or Cacio e Pepe.
Searching with Recipe Categories and Keywords
All June recipes are categorized by Meal Type, Skill Level, and Dietary Restrictions.
Difficulties:
- Simple
- Easy
- Medium
- Difficult
Meal Type:
- Breakfast
- Brunch
- Lunch
- Dinner
- Appetizer
- Side
- Dessert
- Snack
- Beverage
Dietary Restrictions:
- Vegetarian
- Vegan
- Gluten-Free
- Dairy-Free
You can use one of these keywords or a combination of them to find exactly what you’re looking for. For example, searching “gluten-free dinner easy” will return only dishes tagged with all three keywords. You can further refine your search by adding more words (such as “chicken”) to get only the recipes that meet your criteria.
Filters
[Currently this feature is on iOS only.]
Using the [Filters] button next to the search bar you can easily select the Difficulties, Meal Types, or Dietary Restrictions listed above. Once you select [Apply], the applied filters will be listed in green at the top of the screen and you’ll be able to scroll through all the recipes that match those requirements. You can remove a filter at any time by selecting the [x] next to the filter name. Keep in mind you cannot add additional search terms on top of filters, so sometimes it may be more helpful to search with the keyword method listed above than to use Filters.
